What is the purpose of the nursery?

The purpose is to provide a safe and loving atmosphere for the infants and toddlers of members and guests, who are attending worship, prayer meeting or other church-wide activities.  With your help our nursery staff will ensure that the nursery provides just such an atmosphere.

What is expected of you?

  • Make sure your child’s diaper bag, bottles, cups and snacks have their name on them.
  • Let the nursery staff know about any food allergies or special needs your child may have.
  • When dropping off your child, please be aware of other small children at play.  Keep the nursery door closed.  We don’t want to have anyone slip out the door!
  • The nursery needs volunteers to ensure we have a safe and clean environment for your children.

Health Policies

In order to ensure the safety and health of other babies, toddlers and workers, please do not bring your child if he/she has had any of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:

  • Diarrhea
  • Questionable rashes
  • Pink eye or crusty eyes
  • Runny nose (clear fluid is OK)
  • Fever greater than 100 degrees
  • Open sores

Hyland Nursery is warm, clean, a welcoming
 nursery awaits infants and toddlers,
from newborn up to 24 months old.
There are plenty of things for children to explore
and do in the nursery, including their
very own Sunday School class.
There is also an additional toddler’s class
 offered during the worship service.
This class is for two and three year olds
and offers them more structured play.
Bible stories and coloring are briefly introduced.

Your child will have many great opportunities to learn
about God’s love in our Pre-School Ministry.
We strive to help you build a firm foundation
on which your precious little one
can grow and eventually enter into a
personal relationship with Jesus.
Our desire is that each pre-schooler would feel
happy and secure in our ministry.
Our staff and volunteers strive to create
an environment where your pre-schooler
can sing, play and learn
about Jesus and His love for them.

We want you, as parents, to feel completely
comfortable leaving your pre-schooler with us
while you attend a Sunday School class
 and/or the Worship Service.
Please browse through our site
where you will find information on various services
we offer through our ministry as
well as safety procedures, how to volunteer with us,
how to enroll your child and much more!

God Is In The Church Nursery

Where is God on Sunday morning? Of course, God is everywhere. We know that God is enthroned in the praises of his people. (Psalm 22:3) When we gather to worship – God is with us.

We know that God is there when we pray. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:20) When we pray – God is with us.

We know that God is there when his Word is read, preached, loved and obeyed. The Lord says, “I am watching over my word to perform it.” (Jeremiah 1:12) When the Bible speaks – God is with us.

We know that God is everywhere. “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:24) “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3) No matter where we go – God is with us.

But did you know that God is back in the church nursery? “And Jesus took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” (Mark 9:36-37) When you welcome a child in the name of Jesus you welcome Jesus himself. When we minister to children – God is with us.

If you wonder why so many people are blessed by serving in the church nursery. Now you know – God is there.
